Connect for Tweens (5th, 6th, 7th grades)
Friday September 13, 6:00-9:00PM
Our 5th, 6th, and 7th graders are invited to join us for Connect, an evening of fun and fellowship just for Tweens!
We will meet in the Family Life Center at 6:00PM on Friday, September 13th. Pick up will be at the FLC at 9:00PM. We’ll cook dinner together, play games, talk about the new beginnings of the year, and have lots of fun!

Engage: To Save A Life

Join youth and adults from First, Saint John’s, and University UMCs for Engage: To Save A Life on Sunday, September 15th!

To Save A Life is a powerful movie about the real world challenges of teens and their choices. But it’s more than just a movie – it’s a story about change and a powerful reminder of how we can all make a difference in someone’s life. All youth are invited, and we welcome/encourage parents to join us for the film and conversation.
Dinner will be a potluck – we are asking First UMC families to bring fruits and veggies.

Mission Possible: UMCOR Hygiene Kits
Collection – Sundays Sept. 15 and 22
Assembly and Education Night – Sunday Sept. 22, 4:00-6:30PM
Youth and children are leading our church in supporting UMCOR, The United Methodist Committee on Relief. They began collecting hygiene items during Vacation Bible School: Everywhere Fun Fair and we will continue to collect items up to September 22nd. UMCOR provides a list with specific items for the Hygiene Kits, sent to communities struggling after war, conflict, or natural disaster. Collection bins for donations will be available around the church September 15th and 22nd.
Don’t stop at donating items! Join us at our first ever church-wide Mission Possible, an evening of education, fellowship, and service. We will meet in the Family Life Center in age groups at 4:00 p.m. to learn more about ministry with the world, then gather together to assemble the hygiene kits, and end the evening sharing a meal. Following dinner, all are invited to worship together at our Life in the City service.

Middle School Fall Retreat: Beyond Myself
Camp Tejas, September 27 – September 29
Calling 6th, 7th, and 8th graders: We’re heading out of town for a weekend full of faith and fun!
Join us for our Fall Retreat at Camp Tejas September 27-29 for zip lining, games, mud puts, hay rides, camp fires, and lots of fun with youth and adults from First UMC, University UMC, and Saint John’s UMC! Cost per youth is $100.
