First UMC Youth: Awaken, Engage, Connect
First Saturdays at the FreeStore
Beginning September 7
9AM-11:30AM and 11:30AM-1:30PM
Youth and families are invited to join members of First UMC and St. Mark UMC to serve at the FreeStore every first Saturday, beginning September 7th!
Two shifts are available – 9 – 11:30 am and 11:30am – 1:30pm. Orientation is at 9 am, store opens at 9:30am.
There are many ways to serve: sorting, organizing and shelving donated items, providing hospitality, assisting shoppers, bagging items, and sharing stories over a cup of coffee or bottled water. There’s something for everyone – children, youth, families, individuals!

Engage Kick-Off and Fall Parents’ Meeting,

Engage (UMYF) kicks off on Sunday, September 8th, with a bacon-themed night of food, games, and fellowship!
4:00 p.m.
Youth gather in the Great Hall of the FLC for games, music, and fellowship while parents gather in Garrison Chapel for our Parents’ Meeting.
6:00 p.m.
Youth and parents gather in the Great Hall for a potluck dinner. Parents and youth are invited to bring a side dish or dessert; the main dish will be provided.
Connect for Tweens (5th, 6th, 7th grades)
Friday September 13, 6:00-9:00PM
Our 5th, 6th, and 7th graders are invited to join us for Connect, an evening of fun and fellowship just for Tweens!
We will meet in the Family Life Center at 6:00PM on Friday, September 13th. Pick up will be
at the FLC at 9:00PM. We’ll cook dinner together, play games, and have lots of fun!

Middle School Fall Retreat: Beyond Myself
Camp Tejas, September 27 – September 29
Calling 6th, 7th, and 8th graders: We’re heading out of town for a weekend full of faith and fun!
Join us for our Fall Retreat at Camp Tejas September 27-29 for zip lining, games, mud puts, hay rides, camp fires, and lots of fun with youth and adults from First UMC, University UMC, and Saint John’s UMC! Cost per youth is $100.
